resilience
Much of our work aims to build resilience in communities, whether it be from flooding, environmental change, power cuts or space weather incidents. Effective public and stakeholder engagement builds awareness and empowerment, as well as inform how authorities prioritise resources and help engender behaviour change. Recent projects include:
- Space weather public dialogue. A hugely successful national public dialogue on preparedness for space weather incidents, and resource allocation. See our website and report.
- Scottish Power Energy Networks stakeholder panels. Facilitation and convening of two stakeholder panels to assist the company tackle strategic issues including preparedness for bad weather incidents.
- Flood risk communications dialogue. Another very successful national public dialogue, this time understanding how authorities can better communicate flood risks to empower residents to take action themselves. See our website.
- Marine Scotland evaluation of social values and resilience. An ongoing evaluation of a public dialogue on the social impacts of offshore renewables in Scotland.
